Got this for my 3 year old for Christmas & she really likes it. Great for learning & having fun while doing it. I like how it comes with the bag for cleaning the pieces in the dishwasher. & it also comes in handy if you are just sanitizing as well, so all the pieces stay together. I do recommend double checking that all the pieces are tightly connected upon using the straw, as I noticed they do click when they connect. & If they are not, it wont work & can possibly make a mess. My daughter had to add a little extra force to make sure too. But, over all very cool. & Good amount of letters too.
These are such a simple - yet super fun! - little product! You get a full set of the alphabet, plus extras of more common letters, and bonus pieces that are shaped like hearts and hashtags. They're really durable and well-made, and very easy to use. (Although a couple were kinda tight the first time we connected them. But you want them to require that tiny bit of muscle to connect, so that they stay connected, you know?) These are a fun idea for so many people and occasions! Some ideas (I've already ordered a bunch more, too many ideas, lol.) - Great for little kids who are just learning letters and spelling, making it a fun learning experience each time. - Fun for adults at parties, for more inappropriate word making, :) - Use for your business, to promote a hashtag you use, creating fun photos for social media, or to use at events. - Awesome gift idea! I could see these for a teacher - build a straw with the school's initials or teachers name, include the rest of the letters in the package, and add a reusable tumbler cup. - The straws plus tumbler work great for any gift occasion too - spell CONGRATS, or the recipients name, etc. Just a cute way to add a personalized touch to any gift, like a set of drinking glasses at a wedding with a straw spelling the last name, or add a set spelling your college students name along with dorm essentials. Really inexpensive, so trust me - buy a few sets! We initially got two, but will be getting more. All of the neighborhood kids like using them to make their names when they're here at snack time.
How fun are these?! Super fun. My kids really loved them They are super easy to use. just pop the grooved end into the smooth end of each piece. The you put the simple straw piece on each end. The package has 4 "straw" pieces so you can really make 2 complete straws. You technically only need one "straw" end, which is the one you suck out of, but I find it works best using one on each end. When making the words, the straw will get unstable after a while, so proceed accordingly. If you really want someone to drink out of it, don't make it too long. There are enough letters here to have a lot of fun. Multiples of a few here and there. plus there are some fun symbols (heart, hashtag, etc.) I was initially thinking this would be fantastic to practice spelling words, but for my kids, the words are longer so maybe getting one more pack would help us through any very long word with multiple letters. This would be absolutely fabulous for any beginning spellers and blenders. Those who work a lot with 3-letter words. I read that some people had issues joining the letters, I did not. They were snug, but they need to be, otherwise they would fall off. So it worked just perfectly for me. They were easy to put together and I did not feel like the straw was unstable or would break apart (unless it was too long). [...]
This is a pretty fun idea. Each letter has ends that slide together into each other to form words, initials, etc. I like that the tube protion run through each letter and that each letter itself doesn't fill up because that could create a nightmare to clean. As it is, they are easily washed and if needed small straw brush can be used to get down into the straw. Kids could have some fun spellling their names, nicknames or favorite words. The set includes all 26 letters of the alphabet as well as extra A, E, I, L, N, O, Q, R, S, and Y pieces. There are four straight, clear straw extender pieces and two hearts and two hashtag pieces for a total of 44 pieces. We found that the letters fit together pretty tight, enough that there is no leaking of the liquid where they are jointed together. However you do need to be sure to push them together good otherwise it can feel and sound like you are sucking air through the straw as well as your drink. We had fun playing with the letters and making words. I would caution buyers to double check what letters and how many they are going to need, because if you have a name or word you want to spell out and it has multiples of any letters, you may need to buy two or more sets to have enough lettters. I thought this would be really neat to spell out my clown name, but there wasn't enough B's in one set to do it. Despite that, I found the set cool and kids would have fun being able to personalize their straw.
I was so excited to use these when they arrived in the mail and my nieces seem to be the same. When I opened the package I was surprised that it included the hashtag pieces and the two hearts. The package includes all 26 letters in the alphabet which makes it easier for them to spell out whatever words come to their minds. My nieces do not really care to drink all their milk or water so this is an incentive for them to finish all their drinks. I tell them they can change their word or words when their glass is empty so since then they have been drinking healthier drinks non-stop. My other nieces and nephews found out that we had this at our house and are now excited to come over so they can have spelly straws too! I will be ordering another set for myself just to have more letters. For the holidays too I will be ordering this for gifts for my family who has little toddlers learning how to read and write. This is great for reinforcement learning!
