A build-it-yourself listening device where kids assemble the circuits, connect the modules, and end up with a real amplified spy tool complete with directional mic and earbud. The SpyX DIY Listener is a STEM kit that actually works when you're done building it.
The build is the mission. Kids snap modules into the base, run the wires, and test it in the field the moment it clicks together.
Assemble the circuits, then hear every secret. The DIY Listener is a STEM kit where kids build a real amplified listening device with an earbud and directional mic.
“Toys” have come a long way since I was knee-high to a grasshopper growing up on the family farms. Today, toys like this one, the SpyX DIY Listener, not only provide the young person with hours of fun, they teach the child some real-world skills. I received this “toy” for free to evaluate and review. STEM toys intrigue me, so I was the first one to play with this one. I spent a few hours assembling, disassembling, and reassembling this listening device. It worked flawlessly every time. It was time to give the secret agent man in my family, my eight-year-old great-grandson, a shot at it. What I like about these STEM toys, they are safe. These are real electronic circuits involved here, but the circuits operate off three AAA batteries. There’s no chance of getting an electrical shock. This “toy” can also promote father-son interaction or mother-son interaction.
